At Ochaye, we are passionate about breeding healthy, happy puppies who have the temperament, confidence and structure to become much-loved companions for years to come. Each litter is carefully planned, with parents selected for their health, temperament, breed type and proven ability in either conformation or performance. We ensure our breeding dogs are appropriately health tested so we can make informed decisions and give every puppy the best possible start.

We do not always have puppies available, but we welcome enquiries from suitable homes for current and future litters.

Parent Health Testing

​

The parents of our litters are carefully selected and are proven in either conformation or performance. We believe that Australian Shepherds should be sound in both body and mind, with the temperament, structure and ability to do what the breed was developed to do.

Our breeding dogs are:

• Dogs Australia registered

• Hip and elbow scored (CHEDS)

• Eyes checked yearly by a specialist veterinary ophthalmologist (ACES)

• Fully DNA profiled

• Up to date with routine and preventative healthcare

Health testing allows us to make informed breeding decisions and helps give our puppies the best possible foundation before they join their new families.

How Our Puppies Are Raised

Our puppies are raised in our home as part of our daily lives. From an early age, they are socialised with children, dogs, other animals, a variety of adults and everyday household experiences. This helps them grow into confident, curious and well-adjusted puppies who are better prepared for life with their new families.

As they grow, we spend time getting to know each puppy’s individual personality, confidence level and temperament so we can help match them with the most suitable home.
